- Rue was perfect. So was Prim. And Peeta.
- The sets were great. District 12 was just as I imagined it.
- Jennifer Lawrence’s screaming voice is kind of squeaky. Her eyes are pretty though. Still would have liked to see a multiracial actress or an actress of color get the role.
- Very faithful to the book. Though I thought the nuance of the Peeta/Katniss relationship was lost, I guess that’s to be expected when you lose the first person POV of the books.
- My audience cheered when one (fairly terrible) Tribute gets murdered. Still made me feel a bit like I was living in the Capitol. They also laughed when the camera would jump to Gale making sad faces.
- Too much shaky cam! If I had seen this in 3D I think I would have thrown up.
- I still wish there was no romance/love triangle whatsoever in the books, and thus the movie, but I accept that I am alone in this.
- Overall a good effort. I’m looking forward to how the second and third books are handled, since they get into some pretty gray moral areas.
