Mine, personally, would have be “I am a middle aged ‘white guy’ but…I have personally experienced discrimination and bigotry in the hiring & promotion process.” I take that to mean he wasn’t promoted fast enough for his liking—or maybe, GASP, a WOMAN or a MINORITY was promoted before him—despite Mr. White Privilege here OBVIOUSLYYYYYY being the best choice.
It’s interesting that there’s so much focus (rightly) on the corporate elite in the Occupy movement, but not as much on this “53%.” These people, the ones who spew their bootstrap bullshit and think, “Well, I did it, so why can’t everyone else?” are just as bad. They are the enablers of the 1%—the people making billions off of their backs—and it’s pathetic.
I knew that I shouldn’t read this blog. I knew it, and I still did it. :/
